brick stitch / peyote stitch / square stitch / tubealoo / bracelet loom / tube loom/ right angle weave

Anchoring the Beads
Thread a needle with a comfortable amount of thread.
Tie the end of the thread onto a hole of the Tube-aloo.

String on enough beads to encircle the loom. String an even number. There should be no gaps, but the beads should not be crowded either. The number of beads needed with vary with the size of the beads to be used.
Run needle through the beads to the next hole.
Bring the needle through the hole to the inside of the loom.
Run out of the loom through the opposite hole.
Run through the beads and the holes again.
When the threads form a cross hair on the inside of the loom you will tie off and trim the thread.

Once your beads are anchored, you can add the picture. Roll the paper up and slide it inside. Let paper relax and unroll to fit the inside of the loom. Position the top up next to the anchor threads. Once the picture is positioned and is in place, use a piece of tape to hold it in place.
 Peyote Stitch
To weave the bag you will work Peyote Stitch around the anchored beads. It is best to work a few rows of the base color that will be removed later. The anchor threads can have a different tension and can be stressed by the pressure of the work.
Note: If you dislike removing the first few rows, you can also work the anchor with threads and beads that contrast with the project beads and thread. This will make them easier to remove later.
To begin, thread a needle with a new thread.
You can tie onto a bead, or leave a tail to work in later.
The tail can be taped to the inside of the loom and thread run through any hole to begin.
To work Peyote:
Anchor your tail and run through a single bead of the anchor row.
(*) String on a new bead. Run through the second bead from the thread on the anchor row.
Repeat from (*) all around the row.

When you reach the end of the row you will work a step-up.
This means you will run through the first bead last row and the first bead of the row you are ending.. This moves the thread into position for the next working row.

Color Patterns:
As you work the peyote stitch along the loom you will see that each time you add a row the newest row will stand up slightly from the last row. The space between these beads is where you will look for your color pattern.

Sewing the bag closed
To sew the bag closed you will work the peyote stitch but instead of adding new beads you will use the bead along the edge of the bag. Once your bag is sewn closed, you can tie off and trim the thread.

Fringe
Add a new thread along the bottom of your bag for the fringe.
String on the beads desired for fringe effect and length. End with a seed bead for the stop bead (the bead that will hold all the other beads on).
Push the stop bead aside and run back up through all of the beads added for fringe.
Run your needle to the bead at the point where you want the next fringe.
Work fringe across the bottom of the bag. add a strap and other embellishment as desired.
